Marcin Oleksy
Polish football can boast only a few names recognized worldwide. Among stars such as Boniek, Lewandowski, Pajor, and referee Marciniak, there is undoubtedly a place for Marcin Oleksa. Our ambassador, a player for the Polish national ampfutbol team, and since 2025, a player for Śląsk Wrocław.
Marcin gained worldwide fame and recognition thanks to the Ferenc Puskás Award for scoring the best goal in the world in 2022.
Although he is an attacking footballer, competition in this category does not divide players by their type of skill. Nominated for the award were such footballers as Dimitri Payet, runner-up of the 2021 European Championship, or Richarlison, a current Tottenham Hotspur player.
This most beautiful goal, with which Marcin broke into the top of the football Olympus, was scored in a match against Stal Rzeszów. You can watch it endlessly. The team Marcin played for at the time played positional football in attack. Marcin received a cross from the right side and, being at the edge of the penalty area, performed an acrobatic scissor kick. After his shot, the ball passed the helpless goalkeeper and went into the goal near the post.
Marcin Oleksy is a person with a disability. He lost his left leg in an accident.
Sport turned out to be not only an excellent form of rehabilitation, but also opened up new perspectives. After the tragic event, Marcin took quite a long time to recover, and fate, which took away his health, also gave him a chance. Marcin managed to see it, demonstrating the fortitude, strength of character, and determination that characterize the greatest. The goal that brought him fame was the culmination of the work and effort he put in to find himself in a new reality.
Marcin Oleksy became an inspiration to many people, including children.
His attitude shows that despite various difficulties, it is worth fighting for yourself and your dreams. We support Marcin in his social activities.
